    Pyrite - Leo Birthstone

Pyrite is a protection stone and shields against all forms of negative energy. It is excellent to wear or carry as an amulet to deflect harm and danger. Pyrite guards against ongoing control, criticism and manipulation by a partner, parent or employer, lending the power to resist without becoming angry or upset, changing the balance of power. It is known to stimulate and enhance the intellect while encouraging a positive attitude. It stirs the qualities of ambition, commitment and perseverance, and is an ideal stone for students. Pyrite stimulates the Second and Third Chakras, enhancing will power and the ability to see behind facades to what is real. The stone was highly prized by the native Indian tribes of the Americas as a healing stone of magic. Pyrite is also known as ‘fools gold’, due to the resemblance of color with real gold, and used to be commonly mistaken for gold by gold-miners.
